Code Reference (NEC)
- NEC 706 – Energy Storage Systems
- NEC 705 – AC-coupled systems
- NEC 480 – Storage Batteries (as applicable)
- NEC 110 – Working clearances and ventilation
Supported Architectures
- AC-coupled batteries (Tesla Powerwall, EcoFlow, etc.)
- DC-coupled batteries via hybrid inverter (Powerblocks)
Kora interfaces on the AC side unless otherwise specified.
Key Installation Principles
- Battery systems must be listed and approved per AHJ
- Kora does not replace the inverter or battery BMS
- Backup behavior is orchestrated by Kora using circuit priorities
Wiring and Installation Steps
- Install battery system per manufacturer instructions
- Land battery/inverter AC output at the designated breaker or input
- Size conductors per battery/inverter specs
- Install battery CTs if required
- Confirm neutral and grounding scheme compatibility
- Verify communication links where supported
- Configure backup priorities in app
Powerblocks-Specific Notes
- Communication cabling required
- Daisy-chain supported (up to 4 stacks)
- Refer to Powerblocks manual for stacking limits
Commissioning Checklist
- Battery visible and reporting correctly
- Charge/discharge behavior confirmed
- Backup mode tested successfully in app
